Sophos anti virus
Hello,
I just got a new computer from work and i am trying to download Steam on it but my Sophos Anti Virus wouldn't let me download it because it thinks it is a virus or something.
I am unable to talk to the administrator because they are not working and they won't be online for a few days (because the COVID-19 and all that ♥♥♥♥).
Is there any safer download or something that the anti virus can let me download it?
That's really weird because it let's me download almost every application, tried downloading Origin, Battle.Net and a few more things.

Thank you guys for you help (:

We won't assist you with something that could easily get you fired from your job.
Tampering with the computer provided from work is a fast way to achieve that.

Are you even allowed to use it for personal use?

You will have to wait for their response on this.

Still, work it out with the IT-department of your company.

I know, will surely talk with them.
But my question is if there's any safer way to download Steam?
Like a safer download that my anti virus will not block it

EDIT: I do agree with others that you should really deal with your companies Tech support to resolve your issue.

Posted it and immediately thought it was a bad idea

We can not assist in bypassing their restrictions on their device.

The safest route is through the Steam site. So if that doesn't work for you, then there isn't one that we can provide.

It's probably blocking some registry / firewall manipulation, Steam does during installation to assure a good experience with downloads and installations etc. Best thing would be to wait for your System Administrator and explain it to them. If you are sure you are allowed to temper with the hardware, you could try to find extracted binaries etc. to bypass the need of installation.
