VSYNC IMPROVES MY FPS IN EVERYGAME, WHY?
Vsync is supposed to reduce performance. But something very strange is going on with my high performance gaming laptop. Every single blizzard game except overwatch, and every steam game I play (Rainbow six siege and ark survival) would stay at 36-37 fps no matter the graphics settings. (980m graphics card) I searched the interenet for fixes, and nothing worked. Yes I reinstalled games and drivers. I randomly turned vsync on in world of warcraft and the fps sky rocketed over 100... Tried with siege.., solid 70-80 fps on very high. Same with ark! I found literally nothing online that indicates anyone experiencing the same thing. What huge obvious issue am I overlooking...?

I've seen this before sort off, but it was related to resolution and the monitors refresh rate. The only thing I can think of for your issue is something is overiding or conflicting within the main graphics control panel and your games. I'd check things like buffering settings, vsync settings, framerate locks if this is a feature and also find out what your optimum refresh rate for your laptops monitor is.

Vsync typically locks FPS to 60fps but I believe this can be changed sometimes. AMD has a feature called framerate target control, i'd look for something similar.

Vsync in combination with 2x antialiasing is known to possibly improve performance

from the back of my head. vsync allows multiple buffering methods that can improve performance. but that should only work with exclusive fullscreen applications and then the fps should've been locked at whatever the refreshrate of your screen is otherwise these method would not wrok because they need stable input.

so something does not really work correctly there.

It's 75h on my laptop screen. Vsync isn't helping with dialbo 3
