Steam Gift Refunded

Hi,
A friend of mine sent me a game as a gift on steam. And I didnt really feel like playing that game so I resent the gift to another friend. Now that friend of mine has just messaged me that the gift got refunded. I was wondering why and if the original purchaser could still refund it. And what message would the recipient get? Like would it just disappear from his inventory? Hope someone can answer me x.x

Yes but my problem is my friend said he didnt initiate the refund. I dont know what happened as I am just like in the middle of it all. lol.

if the gifts was not activated on an account, a normal refund is possible. if it was activated, see link above.

the only other method to remove it is a chargeback on the transaction of the purchase and that is fraud.

in every case the current "owner" gets a notification of the removal. so ask your friend yourself what the exact message was.

Hi, thanks for the answer! He said he hasnt activated it yet. So maybe that was why the original purchaser could refund. Ive been contacting the friend who sent me the gift but he hasnt gone online yet.
