and refund policy is clear, more then 14days owned or 2 hours plays = no refund. slightly over is debatable, but years, absolute no
Games die and severs get shut down all the time.
That is no excuse for refunds after "years" in your own words.
It's also not Steam's fault... so, if you feel that strongly about it go bother the developer or the publisher. Don't worry, they'll tell you no too.
Also I think you'll find that in the War of the Roses eula the details about the game not being guaranteed to be supported until the heat death of the universe are pretty clear. And Steam made no guarantees with it's refund policy that online games will remain online forever. You not understanding those details, or thinking it's clever to believe that neither devs, lawyers, or other gamers have never thought of this avenue before after 40+ years of gaming is more than a little naive.
If miracles upon miracles happened and Valve granted you a refund; where do you think the money will come from? Yours has long been spent.
