Any way to disable the cursed spellchecker??

Title.

Today a TOTALLY USELESS spellcheck function appeared from nowhere here in my client and there is no option to disable it. Anywhere.
It is extremely annoying since my client's language is LatAm Spanish but I write a lot in English. So as I'm writing right now, 95% of the text is underlined in red.
This function is utter trash and needs to be purged, or at least there should be an option to disable it.

Ehhh no. It's in the Steam client. In Windows. Not in the app.

Pretty sure they did this a while back and then took away the feature after a while. Anyone can feel free to correct me if my memory is not right here.

Thank you sir, and pretty sure there was no way to disable it back then either. Although I think it was not long before they took away the feature but not sure about this time, or if they will.

Yeah it's here too, so ... meh. I mean, I know I'm spelling badly online, but it's not FOR me on a chat service. I can't find a way to remove it though, which... really needs to happen both here and in chat.

Being Dutch the spellchecker keeps insisting I speak Dutch or it slaps me with the red underlines, but I doubt my Canadian/Spanish/French/American friends would enjoy me talking to them IN MY NATIVE LANGUAGE!!! who thought a spellcheck was a good idea?

I'd also like to disable spellcheck. In order for spellcheck to function in the first place, every word we type has to be distinguishable to an AI in realtime. Which means that everything we type is being nitpicked without our permission.

I've made typos before, and looked up words on Google before. It's not some huge undertaking that I can't handle. Meanwhile, the fact that every single word we type, even in unsent messages, is being second-guessed, and there's no opt-out at all, is a problem.

EXACTLY. My client marks with the wiggly red underline anything that is not a common spanish word. It's just stupid.

Maybe so. It doesn't seem like they're doing this for our benefit, at any rate. Like if we had a way to deactivate the spellcheck, who would that hurt? Nobody, of course. But we still don't get a say in the matter. Spite could very well motivate someone to do something like this.
