Downloading Games Problem
Hi all

I have a pretty bad setup with my internet as I need to use a WiFi dongle at the moment. Browsing the web and watching stuff online works just fine, as soon as I try to download a Steam Game the average speed is about 2-3MB/s which is fine but it only lasts for a few seconds and then drops to 100kb/s and then my internet drops out completely. Any ideas ?
I am using TP-Link AC600 Archer T2U Nano but when I used a different adapter previously the same problem occured.

steam settings -> downloads
and limit the bandwidth to something lower.

might work or just extend the time or have no change at all.

doesn't necessarily have to be the dongle, many cheap isp routers also react allergic to the way Steam handles downloads.

It's just Steam. I had mine ping pong randomly anywhere between 138KBps and 44.4MBps which a massive difference. Also download stopped multiple times in between. I should also be getting over 100MBps in the first place but that obviously ain't happening.

I had the same multiple times, but eventually it started balancing between 30 and 73 gb I had to download.

Turns out Steam really really sucks. Spent days on here, spent my money here and even after completing the download or getting close to completing multiple times. Everything was reset.

Have not played a game for a single minute. just spending money and downloading again and again.

If you haven't spent any money here. Look for another place to buy your game. Looks like I'm going to have to purchase it again elsewhere. Awful experience with steam... Just wasting money here.
