Cannot take screenshot using windows when playing a game using steam

I noticed that when i take a screenshot while playing Rainbow 6 siege using the default windows (windows + prtscrn) it shows up as a black image. How ever csgo and R6S (using uplay) can be taken no problem. Anyone know a fix?

hit F12 next time

Pause game alt tab down then search windows snip tool right click it and pin to taskbar.
Expand the arrow next to new
set the snip to rectangle, click on new>the screen goes grey drag the curser around what you want then save it. Using file save as png or click on the floppy.

I use it lot to snip a screenshot and paste into messenger

uplay has an overlay, Steam has an overlay. chances are high that those two conflict each other. disabling one might do the job.

Thats steam's screenshot feature. I wanna use windows one as its much easier to just paste* and get the screenshot instead of finding it in my plethora of screenshots

This has not happened before for me, but only recently started happening. But yes you maybe right.

Can't pause online multiplayer games :/

When there is more than one player in the game, the game cannot be paused as you cant pause the other player/s.
Solo / single player you can pause the game no worries.

This was 4 years ago, also win + shift + s is easier to use if you wanna use snipping tool
