windows cursor is showing in some games

the windows white cursor is not going away when i launch some old games like final fantasy 8 and 9. full throttle remastered, day of the tentacle remastered and world of final fantasy. i have to move the mouse to a corner to hide it. in other games the cursor is getting hidden when i launch the game. why is this happening in some games and in others no? does windows 10 have issues with some games?

It could be that some games are launching in borderless window and are displayed "in the background". Just alt-tab out and in to the game to see whether the mouse cursos persists.

I'm not talking about switching between fullscreen and borderless fullscreen, I'm talking about switching active programs. That can be enough to make a cursor go away.

So yes, alt-tab. He can try alt-enter if he wants to, of course.

Alt+enter, not alt tab.

alt+enter, if it even has any function within a game, is usually for toggling between window and fullscreen mode. in the majority of games it will not do anything.

alt+tab certainly works for everything and cycling through windows can refocus and sometimes fix cursor issues.

you usually have to troubleshoot such stuff for each game. there will be no unified solution for everything but sometimes you get multiple flies with on clap.
