Steam blaming my network because their servers aren't able to load my trade history
I've had this issue for the longest time ever since I started purchasing thousands of trading cards. My trade history has never been able to load anymore and always returns back with a HTTP 500 error Steam is currently unable to handle your request. I might have created a thread prior to this which I believe I was told to contact support as my only solution.

Of course, I've already contacted support but they're strongly insisting that my network is the culprit when I've tried loading this page via multiple devices and different networks inclusive of my own mobile data. During the times that my page actually loads, it will give me the same page "Trade history is currently unavailable please try again later".

For an estimation of what my trade history looks like and when I've attempted to connect to it via the webAPI, it's approximately 20 000 items PER page.

is router update ? ( ios or firmware ? )
and network card has newest driver installed ?

many dont think such could be part of problem.

then are you using own ISP DNS part of DHCP scope , test with 8.8.8.8 to confirm if this is not own ISP DNS lookup that overload own request , not the first time i have sen use last DNS or nextlast for better and faster request. NOT a JOKE.

but again i have no idea if 20.000 per page is right or it just what you see, let steam figure that out.

most service that show so much should have better index, not even sure what type of data steam is using,

Yes.
Yes.

I'm using cloudfare DNS 1.1.1.1

Yes it's 20 000 items because I have high levelled badges. Level 2552 on the Steam awards badge which on its own, is more than 16 000 items trading cards.

how much ram ? try make swapfile 16gb as test if you have 8/16
reson is so it dont resize and loose track, i know its a old issue but just a test to see if data is kept longer. ( very old bottleneck issue )

dont forget test altnative dns server test with 8.8.8.8
because you will never know how many user is on one DNS server.

and not the first time ISP give all same custommer same 2 DNS server as choise , even then they have more.

64GB 3200MHz ram.

Again, it's not my network or my PC. It's Steam's servers not being able to load my page.
I'm ranting just because Steam is refusing to acknowledge the situation.

have you fiddle with the new steam functions that reduce cpu/gpu usage ?
( maybe worth it to reduce it or enable it again ? )

short answer, valve servers will give an internal server error 500 when a request takes above 50 sec (might be 60) to handle.

could be own anti virus app is it scan every file, live scan can cause this. again only OP can test this.

another test , goto friends a pc just to verify same issue and avoid own mistake we can do then use same software, but again just confirm that dont work,

and ofc. no OC and other things like that. but it has been seen before people OC and get odd issue with system performance.

http error 500 is a pure server error. the client has nothing to do with it (mostly).

if trade history aint working, use the inventory history, the inventory history was developed much later than the trade history.

yeap OP alread point this out.
HTTP 500 error Steam is currently unable to handle your request. ( look like a timeout ) and steam blaim him, and that why we brew idea's what can cause this. ( and yes steam can be the issue here, but OP is preety much alone with this, i doubt there is many with 20.000 items that even read this post.

Already contacted support awhile back and they admit their servers are ♥♥♥♥ lol

Hey there,

Sorry about the previous message. We misunderstood your issue.

This issue does appear to be related to the large number of items per trade that you have completed in the past. This large volume seems to be giving our system trouble when it tries to display it for you.

Unfortunately the only option we can offer for this is to keep testing the issue periodically. We understand that this is frustrating and we apologize for the inconvenience.

Best Regards,
Anthony

"There was a problem loading your inventory history"

So much for ever seeing how my inventory looked like or who I traded with :winter2019joyfultearsdog:

Well Adils is probably your best shot at getting this fixed.
https://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561198348711414/
find a way to get in contact with him and explain the issue, pretty sure he is the one that fixed the issue with the old wishlist to the "new" one.
