Received game as a gift from Steam, but I already own it.

Hello guys,

I have searched on the forum to find existing answers, but none answer my question.

I received "The Witcher: Enhanced Edition Gift" from steam, but I already own the game. Is this some kind of bug? Why did I receive a gift that I can't really use? Why did steam choose that particular game to gift me? (I haven't played it that much) .

Lastly, is this "gifting" functionality random or have I triggered it in some way? I received that gift after I just made a purchase on Steam.

Are you sure the gift is from Steam themselves, and not a Steam user?

I'm 100% it was not a gift from my friends. unless some random use that I have never talked with before decided to give me this gift for some reason. There is no information whatsoever about who gifted this to me.

I never watched Steam broadcast in my life :/

Nothing related to the gift in question. Just shows some gifts that I bought for some friends.

dang I guess I could've saved 1.64 on my Witcher Trilogy if I'd bought this first

oh well... tbh it's not even worth the effort, I'll hold onto it for trade value I think
