Samsung TV Steam Link horrible image quality/blocky image as soon as something starts moving
Hi guys, my new Samsung TV Ru7400 came with Steam Link integrated and so I decided to give it a try. As soon as I booted steam on my TV I noticed that the image was extremely blocky, especially when I started moving around there were lots of artifacts and blockiness, it was horrible. What do I have to do to troubleshoot why this is happening?

My connection is 60/80 Mbps and the PC that's streaming is on LAN, while the TV receiving is on WiFi, even though it is close to the modem.

Something went wrong while displaying this content. Refresh

you can adjust some quality settings on both ends.
for a proper experience, gigabit wired connection is not just recommended, it is required.

your internet connection is irrelevant and if 60/80mbit was meant to be your wifi speed of the tv ... that is not gonna work well.

WLAN may be the culprit, i had to use PLC as WLAN didn't work for streaming. Enable the performance indicators and see which line(s) spike(s).

The tv work with 2.4Ghz and got 20 Mbps of download, isnt enough?

2,4 GHz is the band, it may or may not suffer from congestion. It's likely that it does though. 20 Mb/s is enough, but that says nothing about latency. Now enable the performance indicator and see which line spikes.

Note that Wi-Fi interference can be problematic and not obvious from simple bandwidth tests

So i got
8,24msi mput of streaming latency
10-30ms of display latency
1-3ms ping time
but the real problem is the bitrate that has a huge drop to 12k± to 2k-3k kbps and that cause the bad image quality/blocky

Which line of the performance monitor spikes when the quality drops?

no one cause the graph indicates only the ms and the 3 lines (red, blue and light blue) have no peaks when the bit rate drops

Weird. I'd suggest going with Faux' diagnostic attempt still.

Here is the thing... 5G is required at Min. for this to work...
Problem is, these TV's make due just fine with 2.4G...

As for the APP though? There really is no way to get a better result from it...

I have liked the STEAM Link Box more then the APP.

I get much better picture, & much better connections... My only problem is that
the Box degrades over time, & I guess it gets worst, unless that has been
resolved by now in some updates...

The Box also supplies a lot more Features then the APP. does, too...

It is just sad, the Box isn't being sold anymore...

An alternate way to go about it, is by trying a Laptop with your TV,
but I really can't comment about why it is... It's just Portable, &
that is all I got to go on, haha...
