Steam Winter Sale - do we get to keep unused cards?

I do this thing with Badges whereby I gain the badges for games or events and then I also collect an extra full set of trading cards because I like to see them as a collection.

With the Steam Winter Sale event, do we get to keep unused trading cards? I remember collecting an extra set of cards for a previous sale and they all disappeared at the end of the event :(

I think the only cards from a sale that don't expire are the ones from the Steam Summer Getaway Sale from 2013

Is it just me that wants to keep my cards? I’m kind of a card collector, so I like to grab the badges and cards (full sets).

We do understand that collector spirit but Steam does not make that possible for us :(

I emailed Gabe/Valve to ask that we be allowed to keep the cards. Obviously I’m not expecting a reply, but it would be nice if the message touches someone there that sees the idea positively. It just seems wrong to remove the cards, from card collectors!

I know what your intent is and that would to abuse a privilege that is provided seasonally when they aren't meant to be available but only for a limited time and in return you would cash them off.

Agree. There are good side and bad side but the bad guy always stay until the end of the story =)) ! There are more people who monetize from trading cards, and if we keep these seasonal events card forever, it's a lucrative deal for them. It's sad but we have to say goodbye to them cards.

Erm ... no. Turn off trading in the cards as and when it’s expected to stop.

All I’m asking for is to keep my cards. But thanks for your much needed input guys. Happy New Year!!
