Reporting a players compromised account that is sending spam links/chat
Are the steam moderators asleep or do they no longer care about spam messaging advertising links? I've been getting the same message every morning, sometimes twice a day, and yeah, I click the report button that seems to be broken...

I can tell its bot, it sends messages even when this specific player is offline. And yeah, I could just block the person but seriously, this needs attention. The lack of action here is alarming and just absolutely ridiculous...

I file a report, select and fill out the required fields yet its still been days with no change...

Get together Valve, we shouldn't have to go through this, And we sure as hell shouldn't have to block a friend because someone else got ahold of their account...

These are user forums, and it's pretty hypocritical for you to be posting profanity and then telling Valve to get their act together.

Ironically, the moderators moderate the forums, not get involved in issues like this.

Moderators are volunteers and don't work for Valve. Valve almost never even posts here, and surely will not even see this.

Report, block, and then ignore. The report button is not broken. You are just not using the tools available to you. Block them. Do not click any links, of course.

Report the user by his/her profile.

Momentarily unlocking to ask a quick question... "Messages" is a generic term... Are you talking about discussion posts, comments, or chat (aka Friends)?

Would be referring to chat. Sad I had to end up blocking him, cool dude. No way to let him know his account was compromised.... I've been reporting his account every day with an inclusion of the message (chat) in question. Dunno why no action has been taken yet?

Thanks for the unlock so I was at least able to clarify...

Right, and I knew that. Was just curious on what the hold up was.

Thanks Matt
