you can manually set it, either by reverting temporarily to the old ui and set it, or via editing you sharedconfig file in your accounts userdata folder.

There are more recent threads about it returning to the settings menu months after I last posted here.
2. then go to your name with the little drop down arrow next to it. click that
3. then check do not desturb.
4. all notifications will be turned off.
how to turn them off individually isn't a feature anymore as far as it looks like. but i hope this helps!

3. Click on Manage Friends List Settings (Gear Icon on top right)
4. Click on Notifications.
5. Uncheck Group Events and Announcements
