Trying to get refund - MovAvi
Hi,
I'm trying to get a refund for software "Movavi Video Suite" i purchased through steam. each time i submit the refund request they aren't even reading the comments im putting and just refusing it based on the fact ive had the APP open for 17hours. This isn't a game its application software!
yes this may seem like a long time, but this is just the time its been open TRYING to encode the video project, it fails, it doesnt work. I've spoken with the actual people who make the software and they say there isnt a fix, 5.1 sound is buggy in this software and there isnt a fix currently.
please help...

I'm pretty sure their refund policy is applied " across the board " to games and software.

Re-read if you missed this part...

The Steam refund offer, within two weeks of purchase and with less than two hours of playtime, applies to games and software applications on the Steam store. Here is an overview of how refunds work with other types of purchases.

yeah but the software itself isn't fit for purpose! the site says 30 days money back, just guess steam are being A-Holes. so I've had to go through my credit card now...

Just a warning, if you issue a chargeback through your credit card company Steam will permanently suspend your Steam account. They consider that fraud and it costs Steam hundreds of dollars in penalty payments.

So make sure you are ok with losing your account because of it.

Where does it say on Steam that there is 30 day money back?

Account lock for a chargeback incoming.

Point to where it says 30 days on THIS site. Not on another site.
wow do you all work for Steam? Steam are simply the reseller of the software here. they cant even provide me with support for it...

https://www.movavi.com/shipping-and-returns.html

So what you're saying is steam can sell what the hell they like and if it doesn't work tough? right i'm sure that is legal to start with.

What we are saying i that if you wanted the refund terms that are offered on the website for people that buy it from there you should have bought it from there.
Do you go to B&Q and try to return something weeks after their refund policy because Tesco has a longer one?

You bought it from STEAM not directly from the developer. You follow STEAM's policy, not the developer.

The money back guarantee is something the developer can offer through their site, yes.

The 30 days is through the developer, no Steam. You purchased the program on Steam and get the two hours/two week refund policy.

For the 30 days, you would have had to make the purchase through the developer's site.
I'm trying to get the help requested through STEAM, yet they don't have a phone number for customer support, they refuse the refund request without READING why i'm asking for a refund. Hit a brick wall with them, yeah i should have purchased it through the actual website, but even Steam point for support for the software to the developers website, bypassing them...

You said it yourself: Steam is just the reseller. Contact Movavi, explain your issue, ask how to proceed to refund their faulty product if possible. If that fails and if you think legal steps are in order, direct them towards movavi.
Also: No, probably none of us works for steam.
i bought the software 2 days ago, been trying since them to get it to work. i had a support session with the movavi support team and they said yeah it doesnt work for you. so to go back to steam and request a refund. which i have
