Steam Game Copyright

I recieved a letter that was saying that i was being monitored because I downloaded a game Illegally event though i have bought it on steam

most companies or law enforcement will not warn you that you are being watched for doing something illegal. They just watch and/or ban when you break the rules, no warnings. sounds fishy

Yes a physical letter, in the game age of empires II the HD version, i have bought in on steam, and i have the proof of purcase on my bank account and have contacted microsoft and they have it as well, as well as the date of purchase since it was the same day i downloaded it
but i am bein monitored due to illegal download

I see, and i get it that is what microsoft said since i have the proof that i purchased it, but the lletter is still there, should i contact my internet provider to see what is going on

Microsoft cannot know or confirm that you purchased something on Steam
why?
simple thing, Microsoft does not get any customer data from Steam. nobody does.
so this part of the story is nonsense.

the only reason your ISP would send you a letter like this is that they received a legal notice over a legal court from a copyright holder that a certain internet address compromised their copyright, either by downloading or uploading their property. your ISP check their stuff and they know it was you.

so i was told, yet i am still not sure why, even when i purchased it over steam, there was a corpyright letter sent, and i told you that is because i tried to do as much research as i could, even right now i am still researching and trying to say that i didnt download anything illegally, and i chatted with microsoft support, ,if for some reason he couldnt check the purchase, then why did he say, "yes we did see a purchase". i am trying to know why i have that letter if i am able to provide the proof of payment that i paid, and downloaded that file for the game, but o well, i will still have this chat open if someone can help me

It is highly unlikely that would have received an ISP letter for downloading "a game." It's more likely that you would have received such a warning for downloading and redistributing A LOT of games or other content via a torrent or peer2peer service, or "researching" them as you put it. Regardless of whether or not you purchased doesn't preclude you from having downloaded a game through such a service before you purchased it.

Additionally, in most torrent/p2p clients when you download a game you are "seeding" it at the same time that you are downloading it, meaning that you are redistributing those downloads as well. Once a torrent is finished downloading, if you do not remove it from the client you will continue to seed it.

but i dont use torrent, the game was for myself and my computer, i heve not downloaded torrent in years, more like 13 to 14 years
so no i am not distributing, i have it for myself, because i purchased it for myself, though i see why you might think that, since most people do that
