So, in my case, voicemeeter output must be set as default device AND default communication device in windows sound options which was the case already. But my headset must be set as default device (so for any audio output) BUT ALSO as default communication device which solved the problem. By default, I think your headset/speaker has both parameters activated. After installation of voicemeeter/VB cable, it resets everything. In my case, I just activated "default device" for my headset. It sounds like steam also needed the default communication device on it, which was desactivated.
Thanks
This solved a problem that bothers me for a long time, several STEAM games did not accept directing to the virtual channel, now putting this virtual channel as a standard on the audio control panel everything works again! THANKS
Your voice doesnt go to ALL SOUNDS, only for Discord or etc. For example I have 5 routes:
- A1 - My microphone
- A2 - Discord to MY HEADPHONES
- A3 - Discord to OBS
- B1 - ALL SOUNDS
- B2 - Sounds to OBS
You need to add route from A1(my microphone) to B1(All sounds). Go to your voicemeeter and set on your microphone route (my A1) button B1(All sounds).
And dont forget to change you input and output device at steam settings
Idk your sets in voicemeeter but I hope that awful answer will help... :)
