Hello, I am going to buy an ipad air 2 soon and I would like to know if I am able to play civilization vi on this ipad.

As the iPad is an iOS device, it's not able to run the game. Not that the hardware would be able too, even if the OS could.

but they released the game on ipad, and they wrote that ipad air 2 is able to run it but I want to hear from a person who knows because I am going to get the ipad just because I want to play civ in there :P

It's not sold on steam. PC/Mac/SteamOS and Linux only. Please check the store link for the steam version.

Indeed, an iPad Air 2 can run the game. That is, it can run the iOS version which you buy from the App Store, not the Steam version that you already own. Want it on your iPad? That will be an additional $60 please, payable to Aspyr Media via Apple.

Steam does not work on iOS. the mobile app for it is not for downloading and playing games, that function does not exist on any version of the app and is also technically impossible.
