Gamestop Refunds and Steam Support
I bought the Morrowind dlc at gamestop, and steam says it's a invalid code. It isn't!!! I went to gamestop to get a refund, and they refused, said I have to go through steam. Steam however says I have to go through gamestop. It is really BULL!! this is so UNFAIR!!!!! All I want is my money back.

Steam cannot give you a refund as you didn't buy it on this platform. That's like me buying a car from Audi and trying to get a refund at Burger King.

Once you break the seal, you cannot get a refund. The code is highly likely valid but you are entering it wrong. Worst comes to the worst you'll have to go via the publishers.

You can't get a refund from Steam if you didn't buy it from Steam.

Since when are there Morrorwind Steam codes?
wuddih Mar 24, 2018 @ 1:03pm
only gamestop can issue a refund, Steam never saw any money for that purchase.

i am pretty sure it is not even a Steam key, read the instructions that came with it.

I'd appreciate some help with this issue, instead of getting looped back to a multiple choice screen that contains nothing to help resolve this ♥♥♥♥. Maybe I should sue you guys for ripping me off for $20.00

You are talking to random Steam users here, there is no need to get so upset.

I'm not upset with anyone helping me, it is just so frustrating to get the runaround by both Gamestop and Steam.

I have re/purchased the Morrowind DLC through Steam. I got it for $13.99. I only want to be refunded for the $19.99 that I paid Gamestop for an invalid Steam code. They have refused to do so. Said I have to go through Steam.

They're fobbing you off. You can't obtain a refund from a place which didn't sell you a product. If their receipt is incorrect as you've outlined; you are entitled to a refund from them without fail. Don't allow them to pass the buck onto a completely different company.

then double check the code for mistyping

etc.

just to assure, you bought in a physical gamestop store and not from the website?
because the website does not sell Steam codes.

That's what pretty much many companies do when they don't want to deal with something like that. Bring the issue to their attention and say you were misled that the code is activable on Steam when it is not and see what they say.
