Rarest Achievements / Showcase Glitched?
I noticed that I suddenly have a whole new batch of achievement icons showing 0.01% in my "rarest achievements" showcase. But they aren't rare achievements at all. Did something glitch up Steam's achievement tracking?

Hi everyone,

We've enabled the new system, so those achievements that got reset should be back to where they were before. There may be some numbers that changed very slightly with the new calculation - Team Fortress 2 in particular has a few achievements that are about .1% higher now.

The numbers displayed on the showcase and profiles should update immediately. Numbers displayed in the library may take a little longer to update.

Gabe Newell has said in the past that he'd like to redo the Steam Support system one day if possible
It's possible, and that days long since past. Actions > words.

One Man Army
Destroy six gunships in Half-Life 2.
That's now my highest rarest achievement. This is ####ed up.

my question is another one. If these "rarest" achievements persist there's the possibility that their unlocking percentages come back to normal as many users keep unlocking them? I mean these 0.01% will increase in the days or not?

What I really was trying to say is that at least Valve recognized there was an issue

This is already happening for some of the more common achievements that were affected. The early story achievement Chimney Sweep from Arkham City, for example, has already moved from 0.01% to 0.1% as more people complete it.

They'll never get back to "normal" if Steam does nothing, but they certainly won't stay at 0.01% forever. So given time, the rarest achievement showcase would actually contain rare achievements again.

I'm beginning to wonder if that's exactly the "solution" Steam has in mind for this issue.

Yes and if they do something about it, then praise them for that. But if your example sets precedent, then we have nothing to look forward to. So that's a poor example used to highlight a point, that you didn't really make to begin with I'm afraid. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I saw it briefly noted once in this thread that crash n sane trilogy also has one of these achievements, "On Cloud 99" (already at 0.4% due to many players picking it up recently from Humble Bundle, but was presumably at 0% before). It was more common before this
I have the same problem with six games. What I can say is, that I have an exophase account and all tracked archievements there are shown normal like before the problem (e.g. "One men army" on Half Life actually by 42.02%). I know that not every Steam user is registred on exophase. But it seems like the problem is only on Steam on the archievement system.
Same, joining for updates

I’ve never really used Exophase so I don’t know how exactly it works and what numbers are displayed, but the issue is definitely observable from the Steam API and affects other trackers like completionist or SteamHunters. On ♥♥♥♥♥’s actually a big problem because it heavily disrupted the point system and Rudey (dev of SH) already considers reworking it to not use „Steam unlock %” for determining the point values if that issue will persist

Still glitched, but some have changed, so maybe a couple games got actually fixed by themselves...?

Nah, probably some people played those games and got those achievements, making them a bit less rare.

Exactly.

Steam support redirected me to here to Steam discussions but we are yet to get any response from anyone in Valve.
