Account, Games and Friends disappeared

Hi everybody!
First sorry for my bad English, but i need your help.

I bought for my friend 2 games as a gift.(Killing floor 2 and PubG), he reinstalled the Windows 10 yesterday, and when he log into the Steam, his Friends an Games are not there. They are disappeared. When i log into his Account,from my Computer, then the Games are there, but no friends. Friend are not important, he can add all again, but i payed for the games once and he can't play with those.
He added me to his new account(where he has no games) and now in my Friendlist are 2 Acc for my friend. Jampi(1) and Jampi(2), but these Account are the same!
We don't understand this Situation.
Can somebody help us?

Your friend is on the wrong account. Games and friends do not disappear.
Have your friend check the accountname in the top right corner. If they are different, it's two different accounts as accountnames can not be changed.

No Guys. This 2 are the Same Account. Same Accountname and Same Password.
We pay into Steam 5 euro on his wrong Account, and when i logged in from my Computer in his old good Account, then the 5 Euro is there :D Maybe its a Black Hole :D

No, they are two completely different accounts.

They are in NO WAY the same at all, he needs to login to the correct account. End of story.

Ohh man. I'm not a stupid. :-D I solved a lot of Computer Issues in my Life, but i never see the same. The Accountname and the Password are the Same. I write the same name and password in his Computer and in my Computer. Somehow the Steam created a new Account to his Accountname. We changed already Password, E-Mail, Everything... but no Solution.

Not possible. There are two accounts. Period.
Start investigating the accountname of the real account before you embarrass yourself even further.

No one's claiming you're stupid.

I solved a lot of Computer Issues in my Life, but i never see the same.

Never seen this kind of problem before? We have. It's 99.99% of the time someone has a second account and didn't notice. The 1 time it wasn't, someone removed all the games from the compromised account and emptied the friends list.

Since we have two completely seperate accounts with the same user name, location and a common friend (I.E. you), it's far more likely a mistake.

I write the same name and password in his Computer and in my Computer.

Is the name in the top right of the client the same on your computer and his identical?
Does the game show up when you set his Library to Owned while logged into your computer? Steam will show any game installed on the computer even if the logged in account does not own the game.

What happens if your friend tries to initiate an account recovery using the old e-mail address?

Tell your friend to check old emails from Steam. They show the actual account name he should be logging into.

I tell you everything: He had Windows 7. We deleted it and installed Windows 10. Reinstall Steam. He logged in with his Accountname and his Password. No Games, No Friends. As a new Account, but he didn't created a new account, he used his old account what he used 1 day ago. When i log in with my smartphone, then i log into the new, wrong Account, but when i log with my Computer, then he don't have Friends(just me), but the 2 games are there.(Only Pubg is on my Computer installed, Killing Floor 2 not, but both game is on his account).
The accountname and his nickname are different. But i wrote the same accountname and password on his Computer and on my Computer. ALL IS THE SAME! But by my Friend are no Games and by me are the both Games.

your friend has evidently 2 accounts

they are not the same, you have both added as friends... while changing computer, your friend simply logged into an old account he've had forgotten about, probably because he changed names and mixed this up with the loginnames.

loginnames on Steam are not changable and unique. we can't really help you with that, because they are not public, what other users normally see is your persona/display name. some times it is the first public name used.

he did something last year one july 2nd ... and guess what he did ... he freshly created the account where the games are on .. (probably in an attempt to change this name on Steam and by name i mean his loginname, and those are unchangable as already said)

one additional remark ... the old account is not limited, he added the wallet funds to the old account .. he might wanna refund that over steam support.

he has to try to get access back to the account with the games on, if he doesn't get this done on his own, contact Steam support.
