This error message appears across all devices and browsers using my network when attempting to access the any page using 'store.steampowered.com' I've been looking into this for hours. None of my friends are having the issue and my phone is able to access the site when using 4G.

This led me to beleive it was being blocked by my ISP but after talking to them they sent me a link to an old forum thread that I've already seen when googling the issue myself. That was the extent of their help after telling me that they apparently haven't blocked it.

I've checked MAC filtering on my router and nothing is blocked. Steam is allowed through my firewall and no AV software is blocking it.

I've been having this issue for a few days.

All the forums have given me is people saying "Me too" so please be the judge on whether your input is actually constructive...However, all help is welcomed and appreciated. Thanks bois.

don't use a vpn, reset router to default factory settings, and wait a few days. if it's still broken, then your isp blocked it regardless of what they say.

I'm not using a VPN or Proxy.

Waiting seems like my only option for now really. Gonna wait a week or so and then factory reset the router. I have ports forwarded and stuff that I can't be assed to put in again so hopefully it wont come to that but if push comes to shove...

Thanks for the suggestion.

All you need to do is wait, it's hickup in the system, I've seen it a few times and it fixed itself.

How long does it typically take? I've never had this problem before.

The few times I've seen it, it was a matter of 10-45 minutes.

Try clean you browsercache in Steam. settings/web browser and delete web browser cache.

I've tried that. I'm 90% sure its something with my router/isp or perhaps Steams end despite nobody I've asked having the issue.
there is no reason to factory reset the router, a simple power cycle might already solve the issue if it even was the dns cache on your router, more likely is your isps cache in your case.

your isp has a dns cache, which you automaticly use
your router has a dns cache, which uses your isps dns servers to cache it on the device (cleared with a power cycle)
and your operating sytem has a dns cache (cleared with "ipconfig /flushdns" in win)

all are in a chain, if one doesn't know the address to a server, it asks the next one and reports back and like with snail mails, if you don't have the correct address, the letter does not get delivered where it should be.

you can try adding other dns servers directly in your network settings for your operating system, here are two services:
https://developers.google.com/speed/public-dns/
https://use.opendns.com/

both websites contain multiple guides to setup this stuff.

Should have mentioned that I've already tried this too. I've tried so much stuffm I've forgetten half of it. Thanks for the suggestion anyhow.

Thats effort. I'd rather waste a day fixing it and getting nowhere. That seems like a more constructive use of time ;)
It seems to have just fixed itself. However another site is also giving errors on our network only a new router has been ordered from my ISP. As for steam, however. That's fine now.

Had to answer just for one post here haha. I am having the same problem as of late for two sites. One is Xfinity.. the one I have internet from.. HAHA so.. yeah.. NOT blocking me ..

See if you have a modem and router.. plug right in to the router... I can now access everything. SO its IN the router it self. This is MY problem not the answer for others

It ended up fixing itself in the end but maybe that'll work for someone else.
