Avast issue..
Hi all just came back to my PC with a few alerts from Avast saying:

"We've safely aborted connection to ( (valve2001) steamcontent dot com .. had to write like this so it doenst atually include a link here) because it was infected with VBS: Bicololo-TX
. There was a few of these ... i think like 2-3 (valve2001,2003 etc) and i noticed my steam was indeed updating a few games at the time. Is this simple a false flag or should i be worried? I am doing a full scan right now with Avast & Malwarebytes and i will also do one of those scans it does before you start windows.. just wondering is all thanks

Possibly a Steam content server in which the game files downloads from.

Did your game files still download / update?

Yea i believe so - it seems like it jsut kept doing it until it updated.. i am 99% sure it was either Dota 2 or a Dota 2 workshop update. As i remember at the time it showing one of the examples the same game id for dota 2 .. 570. And when i sat down at the pc to check (i was only gone from it like 5 minutes) dota 2 workshop was updating insanely slowly like 10bytes a second

most likely a false positive if it was standard game files. workshop dunno.

and yes, these are the steam download servers
Well thanks most likely i will scan just to be safe.. i know AV's are not full proof but i assume if it's good enough to claim it detected this specific virus on a connection it would detect it if i actually have it. Thanks all i just get a little over worried about this stuff i guess? i duno have a good day all

Same here, it's frozen on downloading Dota2 updates (prolly workshop). Could a map file actually be contamined or is it a false positive?

I think I managed to fix it by unsubscribing to Dota2 workshop content, deleting all Dota2 workshop content from hdd and restarting steam
