games uninstalling themselves
why are games uninstalling themselves from my PC (specifically Steam games)? I checked with my siblings, but none of them know. They swear its not them, so I have no clue why.

Don't turn off the computer while playing or immediately after closing a game. Exit Steam before turning it off if you're uncertain. If Steam doesn't properly close while you have a game running, it has a tendency to "forget" that the game is installed, even though the files are still there.

I've been having this issue for a while, hope it gets fixed

They're not uninstalling, you just need to launch the game again and it will discover all the files and play normally. Unless we're talking about an entirely different bug, in which case I have no idea.

This is not a Steam issue - this either a user or hardware problem.

Someone on here already said that it is a steam issue if you don't completely shut down steam before you shut down your pc.

This is an incorrect assumption. I've got 4TB of installed games and none uninstall themselves because the computer shuts down before Steam has shut down. Modern systems should be terminating running applications prior to shutdown. This may have been issue back in the day but not now.

"tweaking" tools for windows that modify or even disable the timer for autoclosing applications and the shutdown/reboot anyway button from windows itself make this an issue today. probably even more today because more people are less competent.

That's still a user problem and even so; Windows will not terminate a program deemed 'busy' unless you choose to. If the user brute-forces a shutdown whilst Steam is busy then that will cause problems. Best to exit Steam clean before you shut down the device and never simply exit, turn off the PC or shut down without ensuring all active programs have ceased their process.

Oh, well, my laptop has to be brute shutdown, otherwise when it powers back on, no internet. Its almost 10 years old now.

Well that makes a lot more sense...
