What happened to the invite to game option??
It's incredibly useful way to let people know youre in a game quickly and its missing now.

it's beyond ridiculous they removed the invite to game option. goober devs.

2022 & looking for a fix myself, personally i thought it was a glitch or bug but its been happening for me since i started PC gaming again at the start of June with numerous updates since then. Still missing with only "invite to watch" button showing.
In regards to Steamworks games i cannot even invite friends in TF2 or HL2DM, with all profiles involved, including mine, being Public.
However, the game BIGFOOT seems to work perfectly fine showing the function & sending invites efficiently. Even though it is not a Valve/Steamworks related title.
So ya, quick update that it still hasn't been fixed with no temporary solution in the meantime. Contacting support as i type this.

your profile is public, your game details are not. this has to be at least friends only.

it seemingly uses Steams matchmaking functions and that is part of Steamworks API.

yea thats a different issue they need to sort out, the invite list thats coded into some games doesnt show offline players so inviting invis players is more tedious. being invis sometimes removes the option and having private game info on profile stops you from inviting people and wont show if youre in a game, something invis already does.

I just invited a friend to a game three days ago now the option is gone but he can still invite me to the game I don't get what happened
