Trading/selling Steam gift is this legit?

So bought a Don't Starve Together on sale and got an extra copy, my brother seemed like he did not want it so I was in a tough situation. I found out in the description that i could trade it, does it mean i could sell it on the market (for a cheaper price ofcourse)or trade it for another game? I'm pretty clueless and would like to know more about it.

please note that trading Steam gifts is close to be non-existent today.
that is because Steam disallowed buying gifts to store in the Steam inventory.
only a few products or promotions will result in Steam gifts being placed in the Steam inventory.

also note that gifting is not trading. using the "send gift" function on the Steam gift is not a trade, it is sending a gift. that is a one-direction exchange.

this being said, you can use the Steam gift in a trade at the mentioned date (but dont expect too much response, as said, Steam gifts in a trade is a rarity nowadays) or you can always gift it to a trustable friend.
