dont starve together extra copy

so i purchased DST a long time ago, and when you buy it you receive an extra copy to give to a friend, i tried giving to one of my friends, but when he tried to accept it, he found it was region restricted, he sent me a message but i was asleep at the time and when i woke up a week had already passed, and i didnt get my extra copy back nor did he get it either, is there any way i can get that extra copy back or compensation for it?

it stays in your inventory until someone accepts it.
if it is gone, someone has accepted it and it is in their library.

check your emails. you get an email if it was accepted.

he was busy so he couldnt accept it right away, he logged in on the 7th day and sent me a message but because of time zone differences, by the time i saw the message a week had already passed and gifts expire after a week iirc
