Now i can see it, but i dont understand why do i need this program. I mean: do i need it for a games (some ppl says: this is for a things like a "VC Redist"... but i have this thing in my program file so it will be duplicate)? Or may be it's just a some... "wrong download" issue, bug, virus, etc?

It is now necessary for all installed game to DL their common redists into that one location. Valve just changed the way those are done to get rid of all the extras/duplicates in all the game files so it would all be in 1 spot.

It was added for regular client users on April 17th...

Updates to shared installer content will now be listed under “Steamworks Common Redistributables”

This is when the employee told a user it was added after the beta updated it a month before...

The "Downloads Manage" area was added in the beta May 15th and the stable June 13th as I clearly noticed it when the beta was updated...

The update was on the 13th. The new download button at the middle bottom of the client is an intended addition so users can go to their download page immediately even if there is no download active. You can quickly view completed or queued ones here.

So... you mean, this is - normal? Ok, may be, but it looks strange.
Because: "quickly view completed or queued"... this options was before - if you have any of this situations this button appears (and disappears if you havent). So... now, if you have any completed or queued download - you can go to their download page immediately LIKE IT WAS BEFORE.

But if you havnt any of this - you just see the strange button which is show nothing.

More looks like a bug...

And what about "Steamworks common redistributables"?
Should i let it be, or better delete it? Because i did not request this program (if this is a program). And i dont know what this program doing.

They are 865 MB in size here. I currently have ~45 games installed. You?

Steam downloads these common redistributables based on the individual's (installed?) game library. This is the reason some users have that folder larger in size, while others have it smaller.

The author of this thread has indicated that this post answers the original topic.

Ok. Thanks for info.

It's worth pointing out that before the common redistributables was created (and thus causing threads like this) you could have several copies of the same files in various game folders taking up a lot of extra space. Now they're all central and will only take up the space of one single copy.

This has been a very long standing request that was finally implemented and does quite literally save some people gigabytes of space.

Well. Such sistem CAN be good, if this "common redistributables" WILL support ALL games for EVERY platform.

But (for now) it looks like "for steam game only". So if you have any game on "Origin", "You play", "Epic games", etc (almost everyone - have)... You'll need to download this files separately = same duplicates and copies.

+ may be even more problems if they start conflicted with each other.

So, such work - it's a good task for a Microsoft (if they will make this "common redistributables" like a basic windows program with support for all games). But not for Steam.

For now, we have just another page in the endless corporated war, where is only one, who are really suffer - common customer.
