also not every game makes use of the vibration functions of a controller or has it disabled in some game settings by default.
How would I go about disabling the xbox controller support, but still use the controler itself?
steam intercepts it to make it possible to use the controller on every game, even without having controller support.
if a game has native controller support, via disabling controller support in Steam, the controller will most likely work how the gamedev intended it to work, at least that is my experience.
