So just cool down and wait for the fix :)
No, I wrote that the only danger I am aware of with the program for the exploit. I mentioned nothing about accounts or what Valve may decide to do about those who used the exploit.
Scams. If there wasn't value involved, then it wouldn't really be an issue. While I am all for removing the trade system completely, I doubt that would happen and people would be more angry about that then not being able to use a colored name, recived by an exploit, if anything.
Something that lacks any function or value vs people losing items over said function.
Moderators are volunteers. We do not work for Valve, nor are we told anything that other users are not also told.
We were asked to help in the forums and that was it.
Nodejs .exe is not shady https://nodejs.org
The source code is posted above, its not shady, or damaging, malicious, it steals users nothing.
No one reads Steam Subscriber Agreement or Support KB or EULA or every mods post in these forums, the postings here are a constant reminder of that.
Valve should ban them all! /s
And get to cleaning up non malicious sources targeting Steam, its API and its users

Mods advised the same cautions for Steam card idler programs and Steam Achievement Manager. Still waiting to see the hammer fall don't know yet what kind of punishment people who have used/are using those should expect?
We used to have emoting with /me, like "James The MiG-21bis Pilot Skunk eats a sanwich." and it made your text colored, but Valve removed it as people would name themselves something like 'Steam Admin" and use the /me command to get blue text so it would confuse new users.
Phishers would also use /me like "/me has added 5 dollars to your steam wallet. Accept the trade to confirm." to try and scam people into thinking they were given wallet funds (it's impossible to transfer wallet funds) and end up giving away their tiems.
Valve had to remove it. This is why they'll likely remove the yellow too. If a new user doesn't know what is going on, he could easily be tricked into thinking yellow = steam staff, and could be phished. I agree limited color customizaiton should be a feature, though.
Maybe it could be a setting in user settings that's off by default. Like "Enable /me" or "Enable colored profiles." You'd have to read a disclaimer afterwords explaining how it works, how valve will NEVER add you on steam or request your password, etc. so people don't fall for it and know fully what they are enabling.
That idea didn't work after /me was removed and I doubt it will now for the same reasons.
Now James, you STOP manipulating Steam Syles or else /s

So everyone with gold names possibly may be glitching their account when it gets patched.
That just shows the Steam profile page code in the DevTool and the Gold Style changes to the avatar area.
Here is yours, with the same area of styles code wiht the blue code http://i.imgur.com/G8yCyut.png
