slow dota 2 update running on 50mbps PLDT home fibr

the title actually says it all.
i'm done updating to dota 2 7.00 and it went smoothly 6gb = 15 mins update time.
but right now dota 2 has a 135mb update and it's krazy i cant even reach 1kbps my top is 800 bytes/second so i checked my speed and it went up to 49mbps of download speed with 6ms ping. nothing is running on my pc other than steam and this browser i am using.

i tried to search for some answers in this forum, changed my download region a lot of times almost all countries near philippines but it didnt work. please help :'(

im also ♥♥♥♥♥♥. twice came to 5.9 out of 6.6. then back to 3 gb twice and now i opened back to 1 gb. wasted 15 gbs of internet

while i am downloading this 135.3 mb update of dota 2 i started to download a 375 mb nvidia driver to update my video card and it only took me 20 seconds to download that 375mb! what is happening? this dota 2 update is only 135.3mb! why do i have to wait for 10 days for this to finish!

i dont really know if it's new but i have experienced this issue at least 2 times in 1 month. good thing it didn't happen when i updated to dota 2 7.00. i really hope someone can help us with this. i am still updating until now and i've only downloaded 1.5 mb out of 135.3 mb

I have the same problem bro, we have the same ISP but only I have DSL. I think the problem is within PLDT, my friend got no problem with his globe broadband.

prob solved. we just turned off our router/modem for atleast 15 mins bro. hope it works for you and your friend

same issue for me. Download starts at 40KB/s then few seconds it hit 200KB/s now its 2B/s-0B/s all throughout, This started happening this monday, Dec 19 while downloading DOTA updates. I already tried changing my download regions to the ff: Philippines, Singapore, Japan and Canada to no avail. Now I am downloading Astroneer and issue still persists, seems like PLDT is now having Bandwidth Shaping/Throttling going on for Steam traffic. BTW. I am on PLDTFibr Plan 3,500 (50mbps)

guys you should have read my last comment lol. just turn off your router for at least 15 mins then turn in on again and everything should be back to normal

Getting slow and erratic download speed too since Monday. Restarting the modem doesn't fix it. -_-

I have good internet connection, yet in the steam, my download speed is ranging 10kbps - 55 bytes. I guess the problem is in the steam and not in our ISP.

Probably it goes back to normal after the steam winter sale.

Open the command prompt in your computer and type "ping sgp-1.valve.net -t -l 1"

Notice the time in ms you will see that it suddenly spikes up from 300 to sometimes 800 ping.
This is the ♥♥♥♥ that is causing your lag. Call pldt and have them fix your connection.

mabe defrag the harddrive, it's not just the download that loads, it installs+send to hdd.. if you have an hdd and not an ssd it will take longer.

ofc if you are running 100's of programs in the background with the hdd on heavy load, it will take long
