I can not activate Adobe Flash Player (Steam Webbrowser) anymore..

Hello Community,

after the last Steam Update i can not use the Adobe Flash Player in Steam Webbrowser anymore.

Here comes the problem ... some sites require flash player (doesn't work anymore) others use html5 instead but they crash every 2-3 minutes now.

Any serious solution? Thanks Guys!!!

PPAPI is for Opera and chromium based browsers.

Then make it "PPAPI Flash (separate install) can be used by Steam (aparently not anymore) and Opera". Either way, a particular Flash plugin can't be used by all browsers. If you want to use Flash in a browser that doesn't bring it, you have to install it even if you have a browser that brings it's own Flash.

That's basically why multiple different versions exist which you can select. Also it says on the flash page that PPAPI is for Opera and Chromium based web browsers(steam being one of them)

hi, i worked for macromedia at some point in my life, you can google what we did.

i feel i could actually contribute with proper arguments to this thread on why you should not use flash anymore and why you never should have make yourself dependent on it .. but i feel the urge ... well you can sing along

"3 years no flash on my main browser, you don't need it" Looks like you've only visited 3-5 websites your whole life. Almost any online game website needs flash.

Yeah, use normal browsers. You have to alt tab out of your game every single ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ time just to check something and go back into your game when you're finished. And if that was not enough, running a steam game and any other browser gets your cpu usage ramped up to 80% and above. Not worth a single a second.

i dont run flash on my main webbrowser, there is no need to. i dont need the games of newgrounds, if they are good enough they will be made in a proper tech later on or released as standalone flash application, which i have no problem with ... but flash in browser? absolutely no.

as said ... let it go and that comes from a flash dev, the wind blows html5.
