if you have patches of dirt on it that don't come off, take it out of the water and put dish soap/liquid or hand soap directly on those spots and just rub it.
try not to squeeze the mat otherwise it will soak up soap (which really isn't a problem, but some people might have issue with it).
once your done, let it drip dry for a while then place it on a flat surface or hang it up somewhere to dry, should be dry in around 8 hours but best to leave it 24 hours to complelty dry.
1. Fill sink with hot water and dish soap.
2. Put mousepad in solution.
3. Rub mousepad surface lightly.
4. Rinse mousepad, make sure all soapy soap is out.
5. Two drying methods, air dry (fast) or leave by window (slow)
6. For best results, leave mousepad alone for 24hours after cleaning.
But yeah, thanks to the two respondents above who posted pretty useful suggestions for cloth-and-rubber mousepads. I should try this on some of mine too.
