Steam email servers in DNS blacklists?

After some investigation why I did not receive my steam email verification mail, i found out that it's because their SMTP server is reported as sending spam by a DNS blacklist used on my SMTP service. I even got the corresponding logs which say

RCPT from smtp03.steampowered.com[208.64.202.39]: 554 5.7.1 Service unavailable; Client host [208.64.202.39] blocked using dnsbl.sorbs.net; Currently Sending Spam See: http://www.sorbs.net/lookup.shtml?208.64.202.39; from=<[e-mail]> to=<***my-email***> proto=ESMTP helo=<smtp03.steampowered.com>

Now I'm thinking about just removing this blacklist but on the other hand it's blocking a lot of real spam for me, so this is truly not my prefered solution. Does anyone else have a recommendation on how to proceed?

Don't you have an option to whitelist unique addresses ?

If you're using filters for blacklist, just remove the ones that refer to steam.

If you're only able to turn on/off entire ranges without being able to select, consider using Gmail for Steam verification. Not being able to just remove steam from the blacklist means your way of blacklisting sucks.

Looks like it's only possible to whitelist individual hostnames and since I don't know what hostnames Steam SMTP will use at any given time, this is not really useful in the long run.

I had hoped that there would be another solution but it looks like the SORBS blacklist has a history of shady reputation anyway, so for now I have just disabled it completely. Probably a case of "good riddance" :)

asterix for partial names won't work either?

Like *.steampowered.com ?

Or any other wildcard your E-mail server uses?
