Is crosshair overlay bannable ?
I was talking to my friend and he said he was using an overlay to add a crosshair on his awp and scout. I got curious about how he managed to do that and he explained that he was uisng overwolf and an app called "Ultimate crosshair". He said it was not a cheat but a crosshair that replaces the original one and I searched google but didn't find any specific info about it being bannable or not. Can you guys tell me if it can be detected and vac banned ?

black marker, make a dot in the middle of the screen. 100% guaranteed VAC undetected ....

I am not sure what game you are talking about, but AWP ans scout point to one of the CounterStrikes.
I'd say: yes. Can get you a ban.
Sometimes it takes weeks or months until you get the ban.
Some things seem to not get recognized for years.

You just can never be sure.

If he is not good enough to play the game without cheating, perhaps he should consider a different game?

Yes I am talking about counter strike and I did some digging and I found out this :

The "What is VAC" section states that X-Fire or Overwolf will NOT trigger a VAC ban.
I must also add that the overlay does not modify DLL or EXE files and does not inject code into CSGO, so it is pretty clear to think that if the program is not bannable the application inside it shouldn't be too and nobody posted anything about being vac banned for overlay in cs go except a thread about Rust banning anyone that uses it but also without proof of people actually being banned.

Mate.. I dont think ur friend will ever get a ban. There are so many hacks now that can bypass VAC easily and even protrct u from overwatch. Csgo cant even catch these hackers, you think they can catch a dumb crosshair overlay ♥♥♥♥ which is running clientside?
Even if a person is using crosshair overlay, the spread of shots will be very unpredictable as its not accurate.

Disappointing news: Friend got to Supreme just buy making use of a cheap $8 hacks. This is just sad.

it also states that "chat" programs like x-fire or overwolf will not trigger a ban, if your using it to cheat in game which this is you might get banned, it might not be instant it might not be for a month but if they find it and detect it it will get you banned, even if you stoppd using it.

or it never will and you can cheat as much as you like using it, the risk is upto you but you wont find many people supporting your use of cheats
