How do I get the old overlay back?

A friend of mine pointed out the most useless feature in the new overlay that involves typeing on my controller. (It opens in Prey along with other games) After messing with it for a few moments, I realized that I would much rather use the keyboard infront of me to type a message out rather then use the controller.

Does anyone know how to remove the new Interface and get the old one back on all my games or am I just stuck with this crap?
