Hover over the video and the play/pause and volume slider pops up. Next to that, the checkbox for autoplaying. Uncheck it.

In any store page by the video bar there's a box right next to volume control where you can untick "Autoplay video".

In the new store there are videos playing for me with no way to stop them unless i manually stop them. For me there is not button to stop them frrom playing other than clickign on it.

Steam needs to come up with their own browser that has its own cookies instead of relying on external broswers and their settings. My external settings for my browser are very strict indeed.

No third party cookies. Nearly everything is denied storage access. It limits my experience of the web greatly but all that tells me is that there are a whole lot of sites that are pretty nasty. If the site is broken then there is most likely some nasty crap on it.

I block all java. Nobody but me gets to run code on my machine. If you make it a requirement to use java then its tough luck and you wont see me again. There are reasons for this. Java alone is pretty nasty and can screw up your whole machine if the wrong people are allowed to run code on your machine. Use java at your own peril. I dont allow anybody to run anything.
