I have a couple of issues with BattlEye
1. It was installed on my system without permission. By this I mean I didn't activily go looking for it but it wound up on my system without any notifications.

2. It installed a system service that consumes resoruces constantly.

3. If I where working on someone elses computer system, I would have assumed it was a virus or spyware based on the name, and the fact that Windows in the system services lists it as an "Unknown Manufacturer" only hieghtend by suspicions when I found it on my system as well and nearly removed it and decided to research it first before doing so.

It's an Anti Cheat program so one of the games you've installed have had it as the Anti cheat.

It's also up to the game developers if they want to use it and not Valve.

1. pretty sure that was mentioned in a tos/eula that you accepted before installing a game.
you know the stuff you are supposed to read but you never actually do.

2. battleye should normally not run and consume any resources when a game that uses it is not running.

3. i have several battleye games in use. the background service is certified with a valid name "BattlEye Innovations e.K.". maybe you really have malware.
