...and yet this account was created SIX YEARS after half life 2 was released....
though I don't remember ever having another steam account and if i did it was like 14 years ago or whatever. Any email i used is long gone.
so? i purchased the game at the store NOT on steam.
♥♥♥♥..I dont think steam was arouind back then. I didn't want to use steam until i had to..now you kinda do.
went to do this. Problem is it ask for account details and i don't know thme..ugh
fill out everything possible. they should ask you for a proof of purchase of a cd key, which you have. if they want photos of it, throw a funny face ot pet in there, support job is pretty bland.
Keeping track of your stuff is your responsibility.
LOL my son is going through all hte box's of games to find it.
I been looking for a way to deaal witth steam. i found a link to help with duplicate key's. it says go to manufacter. valve's website sends you to steam...then steam says go to valve...
Nothing weird going on here, what do you want steam to do about this?
You should ignore the disks since you would need to patch so much anyway even if you own the game. It's a nice box to have on the shelf now and not much more.
You could use that manual for getting your account back at some point if you want. You can also buy the game on Steam to your son since it's pretty cheap. It was about 1€ on the last summer sale.
It's been this way since digital distribution has been a thing: in other words the entire time you've owned that game, it's been expected that you DO keep up on it. You're TOLD to keep it for your records.
If you have an account, you should diligently expect to present the information needed to recover it. But don't blame steam or any other company for having rigorous and sensible requirements.
