Games running slowly/poorly yet I have a gaming computer
Hello! There is a problem that affects some of my games. The problem is that they will run slowly and/or poorly, especially when the game is in fullscreen mode with the resolution at 1920x1080, which is the size of my monitor so I don't know why it would be a problem. This forces me to lower the video settings and play in windowed mode. Running the game in windowed mode only helps with one game, and even running some of the games at the lowest video settings doesn't help that much either. Now not all of my games run poorly. Every game that I own that was made with or uses the Source engine runs very smoothly with almost no problems at all. I'm not good with computer specifics but I do know for a fact that my computer IS a gaming computer. If specifics are needed, I'll do my best to get them.

Post your specs at least.
CPU, GPU, RAM, HDD / SSD, Etc.

Are your drivers installed?

Did the PC come with an AMD FX CPU?

but seeing that, looks like a toaster, not a "gaming" computer. 3,5ghz leaves 2 options of what it could be. FX-6300 or FX-8320/E. 5 year old cpus.

I'll do my best here:

CPU: AMD FX(tm)-6300 Six-Core Processor
RAM: 4094 Mb

I'm sorry, I couldn't find the GPU or HDD/SSD within the system information through Steam. I'm sorry, I'm not good with computers at all.

So does this mean that most of my games are "unplayable?" Again, I'm not good with computers, so I don't know what a lot of this stuff means.

You can just right-click that system info window and copy all, then paste it here.

That is already everything else but a gaming computer. A 7 year old weak CPU and only 4 GB of RAM when even 8 GB are starting to be not enough for most games and 16 becoming the standard.

AMD Radeon R7 200 Series

And there is the coffin nail to the "gaming computer". Super low budget entry level graphic card, good for office tasks and Minecraft maybe but not much else.

Hate to break it to you, but that system is not a gaming computer. Not even close.

That's the important bit, and it points to you not having a "gaming" pc but a generic pc that can occasionally run games, sorry to say.

Okay. Sad to hear but thank you very much for the clarifcation.

You could throw something like a GTX 1050 ti like this[pcpartpicker.com] in it and be at least capable of gaming @ 1080p with med-high settings on most games.

Why that one? It doesn't require extra power.
r7 200 series can be anything.
And what games anyway?

Open hardware manager in windows and tell us the name of grafic adapter.

The games that I'm referring to are PAYDAY 2, Borderlands 2, Saints Row the Third and Saints Row 4, Assassin's Creed 3, Nether, Insurgency, Bioshock: Infinite, and Farcry 2 and 3.

I hope this is the right one: AMD Radeon R7 200 series

Thats as precise as saying geforce 1000 series.
It could be a 1030 or a 1090.
Find out what you actually have. Not what driver.
Or lets start simple. Is the monitor plugged in the motherboard or in an actual grafic card?

Ok so I have come to a decision. I plan on looking for an affordable actual gaming computer but the problem is that I'm no where near a computer expert. Any suggestions as to what I should be looking for?

What's your budget and where are you located generally speaking?
