Store games on a server, play them on clients?

I have a dedicated media server, and I am wondering If I can install games on that machine in order to consolidate files, and save space on clients, and then play the games on the clients from the server

You could try In-Home Streaming, but I wouldn't recommend that -- playing games over a network that aren't designed for that kind of use is never a good idea.

Map a folder on the media server as a drive on the client(s). Install steam and its games on that drive. Load times may suffer a bit.

at least dual 1gbit nics and storage drives that also deliver that. otherwise you will have problems on every game that does not load absolutely everything it needs into the ram. the delay of networking protocols is already sometimes enough to get sound stutters or similar issues.
