That DOES NOT WORK. The USB cable only charges the controller.
You need an wireless receiver for windows if you want to use a wireless Xbox 360 controller on Windows.

That or using a wired 360 controller. Even on your Xbox360 the cable does nothing but charge the battery. The Xbox360 has the wireless receiver build in, your pc does not.

Yea, maybe your right, I think it is a wireless controller, I just assumed that the damn wire would run everything. That dosent even make sence that they would not let you use a wired connection to control things... Anyways, thanks for the smack upside the head, im pretty sure you figured it out. Off to Gamestop I go, think they sell a wireless dongle thingy, I remember seeing a post about it someplace. Or maybe Amazon...
Yea, I ran through all these steps, and all the steps on some Windows10 support group page, I think the other guy up there figured it out, I have a wireless controller, I just assumed that damn USB charging cable could also be used to play with.
