XBOX 360 CONTROLLER ISSUE WINDOWS 10
I really hope someone here can help me with this, ive ben trying three days now to get my Xbox Conbtroller to work on my PC, and it just will NOT! Ive searched many forums, ive seen different tips and idea, but nothing works. PLEASE HELP!

A little info, just to help along.
Im using Windows 10. yes its completly updated.
The Xbox 360 controller is a certified Microsoft device, its the COD MW3 version.
I have brand new battery and cable on it.
My power supply is 1000W
Windows will see it in device manager, and it has the newest 360 controller driver installed. It even says "device installed and working properly"
Yes, I have tried all 8 of my USB ports, 2 front, 2 top and 4 in back, no change.
I have installed and uninstalled the drivers, both with controller plugged in and out.

I think that about covers all the different tips and tricks I have found online. OH, and YES the controller does work, I used it on an Xbox before I bought it, and it was working perfect. So I DO know it works.

Please, for the love of the game! PLEASE help me. :)

Do you try to run a wireless controller on your pc with an USB cable?
That DOES NOT WORK. The USB cable only charges the controller.
You need an wireless receiver for windows if you want to use a wireless Xbox 360 controller on Windows.

That thing.

That or using a wired 360 controller. Even on your Xbox360 the cable does nothing but charge the battery. The Xbox360 has the wireless receiver build in, your pc does not.

Yea, maybe your right, I think it is a wireless controller, I just assumed that the damn wire would run everything. That dosent even make sence that they would not let you use a wired connection to control things... Anyways, thanks for the smack upside the head, im pretty sure you figured it out. Off to Gamestop I go, think they sell a wireless dongle thingy, I remember seeing a post about it someplace. Or maybe Amazon...

Yea, I ran through all these steps, and all the steps on some Windows10 support group page, I think the other guy up there figured it out, I have a wireless controller, I just assumed that damn USB charging cable could also be used to play with.
