Does steam views count on youtube when we upload videos?
I recently started uploading videos of games I play on youtube and steam and I've got one with over 100 "unique views" on steam here;
http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=871856774

But it sits at about 40 views on youtube...

So I've been doing some researches to find out if youtube count steam views and couldn't find very clear infos... Some peoples says youtube doesn't count it because steam auto-play videos once you click the link and some others says it's just a matter of time till it syncs or youtube require a certain amount of the video to be watched to count...

So I have no idea what to believe... But if youtube doesn't count steam views it will be a lot less interesting to upload videos to steam...

I'm not sure personally but I would still upload videos to steam profile anyway. My profile is almost like a portfolio of things I do from videos to artwork and steam guides.

Where does it show you there were 100 unique views on your YouTube account?

At the very least you're advertising your channel since you supposedly have 250% more views due to posting on Steam that you wouldn't have otherwise.
It doesn't show it on youtube, it shows on the steam video page, it shows the number of youtube views and steam unique views, I just wonder why it's different and if it count for youtube...

How does steam define a "view" though?
The fact that it's been viewed on a page may still count as a unique impression even if a person didn't actually click the video to watch it.

videos on Steam are just simple youtube embeds, nothing is hosted or played from Steam servers, everything is still youtube. it will count as a youtube view when youtube thinks, it is a view.

YouTube™ Views(Public number)
- the view counter from the youtube video, cached, regulary updated. should be mostly the same as on youtube itself. that is the only thing that is synched, Steam updates this number from Youtube.

Unique Visitors(Public number)
- that are unique page views on Steam a.k.a. how many different logged-in Steam users have visited the Steam media page, that are not any video views.
hm interesting Wuddih, it could be possible as the view on youtube did increased since (up to 80s from 40s) but I don't understand how steam count unique views if people are not watching it... I mean, clicking the link make it play automatically... They can't be counting peoples just watching the thumbnail are they?
