Terrible performance in Borderlands 2 on pretty good laptop
I have 64bit Win 10 Dell Inspiron 15 with:
Core i7-6700HQ 2.60GHz
GTX960M 4GB vRAM
16GB RAM
and my average fps in borderlands 2 is 40. I tried setting Physx on low, turning off vsync and even setting everything to low but even with resolution 1366x768 game is dropping fps to 45. Even in out of combat when I'm in middle of Sanctuary I have 40fps. Is there any way to fix this?

What are your temperatures like in-game? It could be thermal throttling. Also, make sure that Borderlands 2 is using the GTX 960m and not the integrated chip on the i7-6700HQ.

It's using gtx card, both CPU and GPU temperatures are at 55 degrees, GPU usage is 90% and CPU is 40%

I just don't know what to do. I set everything in NVIDIA control panel on maximum perrormance, battery usage also is set on maximum performance.

This may or may not resolve the issue, but try disabling PhysX entirely and test the issue.

Well if I uninstall it borderlands 2 won't even launch. I guess it's game fault and it's terrible optimalization on windows 10. Anyway thanks for help

its a 960m, you might be able to get a little more, but mobile gpus are genearally 2 steps below their dedicated halves, so it would be a 740 basically. i think 40 fps might be max you can hope for without oc, which i wouldn't reccomend since laptops are generally awful for heat dispursion.

It's not 960 fault, I can run gta5 on high settings with average 50fps but I can't run 4 years old game on low settings with everything turned off and resolution set up on 1366x768 with permamently 60fps? It barely gives me 55fps when I'm in sanctuary

He did not mean uninstalling PhysX but setting ot to LOW/OFF (cant remember) in your Borderlands 2 graphic settings. The setting has been bugged for years since Borderlands 2 uses certain PhysX functions that are no longer present in newer PhysX drivers.
I get FPS drops down to 40 in some fights and Sanctuary if i left the setting on, and that is on a desktop GTX 970.

There are also so called PhysX Legacy drivers you can install instead of the newer one. Those also work better with Borderlands 2.
