My laptop is running very slow right now .. Any ideas to fix that ?
So my laptop is not that bad . Here are my specs :
CPU : Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-4510U CPU @ 2.00GHz
RAM : 8 GBgb GPU : NVIDIA GeForce 840M
The monitor has only 60 hz refresh rate .
I try to keep my laptop's health good .

My question is :
Why do i sometimes get only 40 FPS in most games like GTA 5 and CS:GO
I mean my specs are not bad at all .
My graphics card is 4 gb .
I have my latest drivers . ( i updated them with driver booster )
And i even installed the NVIDIA one directly from the website .My friend owns a computer which has 8 GB ram , intel core i5 processor and 4GB GPU.
His monitor is of course better than mine .
But there isnt that of a difference . He have up to 200 FPS and i have like 40 FPS
Please , suggest me what i must do to kina improve my FPS .

Yes, it is that bad.
It's a low powered dualcore CPU combined with a videocard that was never designed for gaming.

i7 is not "better" then i5

the i-numbers can be seen as feature set, not as performance indicator. the first number of the following number is the generation. you have a 4th gen intel, intel just released their 8th, you are running your grand-grand-grandpa through the minefield.

every gpu with an M or Mobility brand is automatically as bad or worse as their preceding generation low-budget desktop solutions

every form of ram is irrelevant for calculation performance. it does not matter how much can be stored in your trunk, when your engine does not allow you to drive fast enough to deliver it in time.

Don't! I repeat, don't! Use Driver Booster

It doesn't pickup 100% of your hardware and may ♥♥♥♥ up your soundcard / Wifi card.

Install them manuall since the only 2 important drivers are from your CPU & GPU. It doesn't take too much time if you use NVIDIA's Program wich gives you a message when new drivers are out.

Driver booster may harm your system more then it does good.

Please, learn from my mistakes. It took me 3 hours to get my laptop back running since i had to manuall search the real drivers of my laptop. It is not smarter or faster to use Driver Booster.

Depends what games you play mostly, you'll find a YouTube vid for most games to fine tune.
There's also a Windows 10 tweaking vid that tells you certain things in Win 10 need turned off.
I did disabled some unwanted things . https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DwiHog2leMM . Thank you !

Driver Booster is great piece of software, it will never break anything, it just does it's job. Only reason people are saying it broke this and that is because the drivers for their hardware are ♥♥♥♥. So try not to update you're graphic card drivers if you're using AMD and wifi since those drivers always break.
