vac error
every time i try to connect to a game on dota it give me the error my computer is blocking steam and i connot join match making. well since the update it has started doing this, tried switching off firewall, all dota files are allowed in firewall and tried verifying the game files but nothing.

great another one of dota's special players lol nice comment idot. the exact wording i get is this if anybody can suggest real help as i have tried the so say cure for this and nothing, the only thing i am running is windows shell but ive had no problems with this since i have had the pc........it says:- valve anti cheat (vac) unable to join matchmaking because an issue with your compter is blocking the vac system. please ensure you are not using any programs that may interfer with vac and confirm that steam is correctly installed.........was playing dota 2 days ago then the update and now it wont let me connect. i can watch games but not play since the update..??? help please if you have had this and solved it ...thanks

The support article linked above is the support article for your error. Follow all the instructions in the support article. If the issue persists, open a support ticket, as Dota 2 is a Valve product.

tried all the cures but ever since i logged in and the new update downloaded it wont let me matchmake

Why would anyone help you when you act like this after someone does try to help you?...

The person that was aimed at has deleted their comment and it is not directed at the helper.

iv been getting the same error also after the update.very frustrating because the guide doesnt help at all. and all that the steam support says was
"It looks like Valve Anti-Cheat is preventing your account from entering matchmaking.

Prior to matchmaking, VAC must verify that your Steam client service is functioning correctly. If the service is not running or a program is preventing VAC from seeing it, you will continue to experience the error. This may also happen if you've stopped the Steam Client service for any reason.

Please read our Disconnected by VAC article and follow all of the recommendations, specifically the Repair the Steam Service section.

If you are still encountering the error and are sure that Steam client service is functioning correctly, I would encourage you to contact a local PC technician in your area to investigate the issue further. We are unable to provide advanced support for removing third-party programs that may be interfering with VAC.

i even reformated my pc thinking it was because of malware or virus. now my pc is only running steam and dota2 but still unable to play and still having the VAC erroR! HEELLLPP

Yupp it works thnx.my windows was running 64bit.had to change dota to 32 and works perfectly.
