Hey,

I would be interested in the games you would suggest to get a Steam Award this Year in the upcoming event. (in case there will be one).

_______________

The categories are:
_______________

- Game of the Year
- VR Game of the Year
- Labor of Love
- Better With Friends
- Outstanding Visual Style
- Most Innovative Gameplay
- Best Game You Suck At
- Best Soundtrack
- Outstanding Story-Rich Game
- Sit Back and Relax

Any input is apreciated and I would be happy to see some games suggested I've never heard of!

I would typically just enter completely random filler since I hardly ever had a game I liked enough in the recent past to even consider for best game of the year.

But this year is different with BG3.
Baldurs Gate 3 will have a good shot I think too

Dead Space for Outstanding Visual Style.
Hobbit XIII Oct 13, 2023 @ 8:59am
Best game you suck at : Star Wars Battlefront 2 (original) Multiplaying on this game forces you to become a better human being / hobbit being.

Best Game of the Year : Oblivion game of the year with all the addons version (not to be confused with mods).

Sit back and Relax : difficult either Medieval total war 2 or Port Royale 3.

Sakura Cupid for Labor of Love :nekoheart:.

i hope Valve stops recycling this event. the numbers should tell them.

and if this happens anyway, the reasons stuff will get nominated and win are:
1) popular at the time.
2) dedicated or pushed fanbase.
3) any poll is a goal.

of course the game where you can speedrun to get laid in 2 minutes will be nominated and probably also win, most innovative gameplay!

I hope Hi-Fi Rush gets a nomination at least. Given how it released early in the year, I wonder if enough people will remember it for how good it is.

Would it even be hard to categorize it? Since it even runs on the Deck, I could see it pop up in the "On the Go" category, and not solely be associated with the soundtrack, even if it is a rhythm game.

Best soundtrack has to go to Laika: Aged Through Blood. Absolute masterpiece, I’ve never found a game who’s soundtrack almost brings me to tears every time.
i remember pubg won the steam goty award so i dont care fan voted awards are never a good thing
