Is Steam Discussion Forums a cesspool?
Every time I come here and post a reply or start a new discussion I get spamed by account thieves or other bottom feeders. I had to block and report multiple accounts already and the only time they show up is after I come to the Steam Forums.

I just wan't to be able to come to these discussion forums and feel safe.
Steam shoud allow us to auto block friend requests from anyone with a private steam profile.

It isn't the discussion forums...I don't get a single invite. Maybe you spend too much time on 3rd party trade sites. Maybe it is just because you simply play the games that have an online economy. Maybe it is because you have a bot going to every member of a group you are in.

But it is not the forum.

Thats a good point and I had forgoten about Steam groups. Perhaps it was just coincidence and leaving those groups is something I have control over. Thanks for the tip!

No problem. It can help to narrow down the possibilities sometimes.

You also have a public profile. If you don't trade, just set it to friends only/private. I'd hazard a guess and say that's why super hasn't had any spam invites. Just as I haven't had any either.

That sounds like a better solution then the one I had. Thanks for the help!

I haven't had any spam invites either, even with a public profile and frequent posts on the forum. I don't know where you've gone to attract them, but it seems it's somewhere I haven't been.

As said before its not the forums, or the profile, or at least its not likely

Also blocking private profiles will not really help to start with, as they can just open the profile, its not going to be too hard for them to do that...
