What's the friend limit on steam?

I've been wondering for a couple of years now. What's the limit on the steam friends?

Depends on your level.

It depends on your Badge level, the higher you are the more you can have, myself i don't do the badge thing and my limit at level 8 badge i think i can add around 180 people until i get a higher badge level.

It starts at 250, plus 50 more if you connect to Facebook, plus 5 more for every Steam level.

Go to your profile and click Friends, it will tell you how many friends you have out of how many you can have maximum.

Presumably you have a Facebook account linked to your account
250+50+25=325

Facebook linking was removed in 2020. 5 years from when this thread was created.

does anyone know that the actual "maximum" possible number of friends is? i mean imagine someone like St4ck who is Level 5000, how many friends can have?

As stated in this old thread how many friends depends on your level. Not aware of any caps so if I'm right it's an infinite amount

Nope. St4ck is level 5000 and there are others over 2000

OP: Friend allowance increases by 5 per level. Can't remember the initial friend amount cap on a new account.

For St4ck it'd be 5000(Level) x 5(new friends) = 25,000 (Friend allowance) + whatever the base amount is. No idea if St4ck is max level or not

EDIT: Been pointed out wuddih was was talking friend cap not level cap so my comment is irrelevant
