Anyway to get steam to recognize custom fonts?
I wanted to change my name to Alduin in the Dovah's written form. So I downloaded some fonts and had them installed, but when I change my steam name, or use an internet browser, it doesn't type the font out as I have it, instead it rights in in english aerial text.

Seriously, how do you expect this to work? Is Steam supposed to upload your special font to everyone who has your name appearing somewhere?

Steam and your browser are not word processors that allow custom fonts as input. stuff you enter here in input fields are saved on servers, not on your computer.

if that would be possible, it would have a name, and the name is hole, security hole.

Oh ok. :\ I've seen a whole bunch of people have weird fonts and squares etc with their usernames and my font isn't my very own custom font. Its an existing font FOR a game, so I wondered if steam had something somewhere to allow recognition of the font.

steam client supports utf8[www.w3schools.com]. however, steams internal browser doesn't support the full utf8 charset, so client and websites displayed in the client will differ.

Steam appears to be using Unicode, which has a HUGE number of characters -- in fact, I doubt there's even a font that contains ALL of them.

Just to get an impression, check out the wikipedia description of the Unicode basic multilingual plane[en.wikipedia.org]. That sort of covers the "core" characters of Unicode; for anything outside BMP, chances that a random font has the character are much lower.
